Step 1: Swing arms side to side below waist.
Step 2: Make waves with hands side to side.
Step 3: Point to each side while moving hips to opposite side.
Step 4: Rock body closer to camera.
Step 5: Sing favorite part of the songs.
Step 6: Move back while rocking hips.
Step 7: HAVE FUN!
I think it’s fun and a stress reliever to freestyle dance to your favorite songs. This is why I did steps for a dance for my activity. By using my steps I wanted to allow anyone to dance exactly the same.
I like the way my video turned out. But I realized this was more of a freestyle dance so anyone who copied the steps would not look exactly the way I did in my video. Everyone looks different when they’re dancing. That is the beauty of freestyle dance! But if they incorporated the steps with their own freestyle to the same song I used it might look similar.
Here is my dance:
This week I met one of my classmates Benji. He is a first year student and a business major. He lives at the dorms on campus and enjoys living at CSULB. He took Art 110 as an elective because art has always interested him and he thought this would be a great class to take.
He then interviewed me to get to know me a little better. He was a little shy at first so I told him he can ask me anything he’d like. He was interesting in all the museums i visited when I was in Europe two years ago. He thought it would be amazing if he could go himself.
We talked for about 20 minutes.
I left class with a new friend 🙂
This week I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley Sharpe at her BFA printmaking exhibition at the Merlino Gallery on campus. Most of her artwork was related to cats. It was eye catching when I walked in because of all the colors she use, it was great. Her exhibit was different from many others that I’ve seen at the galleries, that’s why it was my favorite this week. I thought it was inspiring that her artwork reflected what really made her happy. Sometimes I do things that aren’t exactly what I picture in my head because I’m unsure if people will understand.
When I saw her art, I knew she made exactly what she was thinking in her mind, not worrying about what others might think. This is why I enjoyed her exhibit so much.
We talked for a few minutes and she was laughing about how her high school teachers used to get upset with her because she would doodle on her work. It was interesting when she said she has never owned a cat, after looking at her art I thought for sure she has owned many.
This weekend I went with my friend to Las Vegas. We decided to make a trip to Lake Mead I thought it was a perfect opportunity to do my sculpture project. It was a gloomy day but it was still beautiful. The sand was a little different than Beach sand but it still worked.
I dug a long haul and put my hand in and covered my hand with sand. I thought it would be cool if it was a flat sculpture instead of a Long sculpture.
If I showed my sculpture to someone they wouldn’t be able to make out what it was. I thought it was great because you can see the indention of my fingers that I left in the sand.
This was one of my favorite activities in Art 110. I was able to see Lake Mead and have a fun day outside 🙂
This week I wanted to share my health food blog. I am inspired by healthy living and love cooking nutritious foods.
The pictures below are from my blog. I enjoy turing my food into art, it makes it look delicious! I believe when you put love and time into your food, it is more nourishing for the body and you will enjoy it much more.
I believe in the power of raw foods and how much the body could benefit from these nutrient dense foods. It’s disappointing how many people don’t have enough fruits and vegetables in their diet. If I could change one person’s eating habits after they read my blog, I would feel accomplished.
Eating raw foods are good for the body, mind and soul.
This week I met my classmate Chrissy. We decided we didn’t want to do interviews this week so we did something different. We played the game Trivia Crack against each other. She saw me playing it while I was waiting for class to start.
After walking through this weeks exhibits, we sat on a bench and played against each other for a while and talked about which gallery walks we enjoyed most this semester.
